Education for clearer choices.

Compare resilience frameworks, building health standards, performance goals, and practical material systems.

Resilience Rating Systems

We use RRS and other frameworks as reference points for thinking about resilience as a measurable, reviewable quality rather than a vague project aspiration.

Better Building Certifications

Compare Building Biology Institute standards and Phius-style (Passive House) certification paths, including where they help, where they overlap, and where project-specific judgment still matters.

Materials Analysis & Comparisons

We build comparison guides for wall assemblies, plaster substrates, insulation, finishes, embodied carbon, toxicity, fire behavior, vapor behavior, and maintenance.

Project education can become the content engine.

  • Building with Cob & Clay Workshops have focused on walls, benches, earthen ovens, and sculptural installations. We teach how to evaluate soil, mix, build walls, sculpt, and fasten structural elements.
  • Earthen Plasters & Finishes Workshops have focused on wood framing, Faswall, and straw bale projects. Plasters use local materials, with instruction on surface preparation, mix ratios, and hands-on application.
  • Lime Plaster & Exterior Stucco Lime work introduces history, chemistry, advantages, surface preparation, premix or site-mixed plaster, additives, staging, and application rhythm.
  • Natural Paints & Sealers Clay and milk protein are natural binders used in traditional paint finishes to protect and beautify plaster, drywall, and masonry surfaces with botanical oils.
